Sagamu Independent Power Plant is a proposed 400-megawatt (MW) gas-fired power plant in Ogun State, Nigeria.[1]

Background
In 2014, the Honeywell Group and United States Trade Development Agency agreed to work together on a feasiblity study for Sagamu Independent Power Plant.[2]
Sagamu IPP would be built in two parts: "Phase 1 shall deliver 250 MW to the Grid using open cycle gas fired turbines (OCGT). Phase 2 will be ramp up to 400 MW by retrofitting it into a combined cycle (CCGT) power plant."[3]
In early 2018, Sagamu IPP contracted with China Energy Engineering Corporation to build the plant, with construction to begin in 2018 and operations in 2020.[4]
