Sandra Peterson "is President of Bayer HealthCare's Diabetes Care Division and Executive Vice President, Bayer HealthCare.

"She joined Bayer in 2005 from Medco Health Solutions (formerly Merck-Medco) where she was Group President, managing a division with revenues of more than $7 billion. As an Executive Management team member, she played a role in the strategic spin-off of Medco Health from Merck & Co. Inc. Prior to the spin-off, she was Senior Vice President of Merck-Medco's Health Businesses where she launched several new business lines and generated double-digit growth. Areas of responsibility at Medco included business development, strategy, alliance management, product development, branding and marketing. Before Medco, she held various executive positions at Nabisco and Whirlpool Corporation, and was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.

"Ms. Peterson holds a bachelor's degree in Government from Cornell University and an M.P.A. degree in Applied Economics from Princeton University. Conversant in German, she received a fellowship from the Robert Bosch Foundation in Stuttgart, Germany, and spent a year serving with the German Finance Ministry and the Federation of German Industry.
