Sara L. Carlson

Sara L. Carlson "became interested in wildlife management and conservation when she volunteered for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife at the National Elk Refuge in Jackson, WY. After graduating with degrees in Recreation Management and Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, she moved permanently to Jackson Hole where she worked for the U.S. Forest Service for a number of years and then began fundraising for the Grand Teton Music Festival. In 2004, Sara became the Research & Membership Coordinator for The Cougar Fund. In an effort to gain more experience, Sara left The Cougar Fund for a year and took a development position with The Wildlife Conservation Society based out of the Bronx Zoo in New York. In August of 2006 Sara was delighted to return to The Cougar Fund and to continue efforts to increase awareness and understanding of cougars throughout the Americas."
