Biographical Information

"Seán is currently a Director at Nova Capital Africa. His core competencies are in ICT operations, corporate strategy, marketing and human capital development. Seán has worked in 15 countries in Africa building institutional capacity and is fluent in several African languages. Most recently (2004 – 2009) Seán was COO for an ICT company with a global reach. Prior to that (2001 – 2004), Seán was Managing Director of McCann-Erickson Africa, the continent’s largest advertising agency network with 22 offices throughout Africa. Previous to that, he worked intimately to develop innovative marketing and sales strategies with leading South African and African companies in the FMCG, banking and retail industries. Seán’s alternative career path started as a Roman Catholic Priest when he lived and worked in predominantly black South African communities. He has served for six years as the chairperson for a major national organisation dedicated to the rehabilitation of street-children and is currently a registered mentor for young South African entrepreneurs. Seán holds an MA (London) in African Studies with further qualifications in Theology (B.D.) and Philosophy (B. Phil)." [1]
