Search engine optimization

Search engine optimization is the act of engineering a page and linkage data to make search algorithms believe the document is relevant to a particular query or topic. At the base level search engine optimization looks at keyword density and link anchor text to determine what a document is about. Some documents tend to naturally rank well on their own, whereas some others require heavy manipulation. Some more advanced search engine optimization techniques involve creating topical networks, clustering, and latent semantic indexing.
