Coal
The port receives coal from Indonesia and Australia, purchased by Joban Kyodo Electric Power (owned by Tokyo Electric and Tohoku Electric Power Co) for its Nakoso thermal plant in Fukushima prefecture.[1]
Kansai Electric Power has proposed a 112 MW coal-fired power station near Sendai port, the Kansai Sendai power station, with a planned operation date of 2017.[2][3]
