Background on Plant

The four existing waste coal-fired units of Shandong Huipu-1 power station, totaling 33 MW, have been retired. The plant is owned by Shandong Huipu Gangue Electric Power.[1]

Description of Expansion

In 2006 Shandong Huipu Gangue said it was planning to build the new coal waste-fired Shandong Huipu-2 power station, with a total planned capacity of 120 MW. However, there appears to be no news on the units since the company proposed them,[2] and the plan has likely been cancelled.
