Background on Plant
The four existing coal-fired units of Shanxi Hepo power station, totaling 300 MW, were brought online between 1991 and 2000. The plant is owned by Shanxi International Electricity Group.[1]
The 4 units were retired in 2016 after the expansion units went operation.[2]
Description of Expansion
Shanxi International Electricity Group is currently building two additional coal-fired units at this plant, with a total planned capacity of 700 MW. The new units are scheduled to be completed in 2015.[3][4]
The new units were completed in 2016.[5]
