"SMK was set up in memory of Dame Sheila McKechnie, who died in 2004, and was seen as one of the most eloquent and effective campaigners of her generation. Approved as a charity in 2005 to stimulate and support the next generation of campaigners, SMK helps individuals who tackle the root causes of injustice and unfairness and who aim to develop sustainable and innovative solutions for social, economic and environmental change."
