Shenneng Korla power station

Location

Background on Plant
China Guodian proposed a power station of two units of 350 MW each for the city of Korla in 2011. The units were permitted in 2013 and went into construction in 2014.[1][2]
The plant was transferred to Shenneng Korla Power Co. of Shenzhen Energy in 2015.[3]
The units are planned for operation by 2017.[4] They are combined heat and power (CHP) plants for residential and industrial use.[5]
Nationwide Restrictions Imposed on Development of Coal-Fired Power Capacity
In January 2017 China's National Energy Administration proposed the suspension of over 100 planned and under-construction coal power projects with a total capacity of over 100GW in 13 provinces, including Guodian Korla power station. It is unclear when or if the projects will be revived.[6]

Construction ongoing
Construction continues on the plant, and as of mid-2017, appears near completion.[7]
2017: Power station commissioned
Unit 1 was commissioned on 24 August 2017,[8] and unit 2 in November 2017.[9]
