Background on Plant

In June 2014 Cheung Sheng Global Holdings (CSG) announced its partnership with the Cambodian government to establish the Cambodian Power & Electric Supply Co. The joint venture company will build, own, and operate the 1,200 MW Sihanoukville CSG power station. The plant would be located near the coastline at the main port of Cambodia, to import its coal. The project is estimated to finish preparation work in June 2015, and start construction by the end of 2016. It will be divided into four phases, with completion of the first phase in 2018 and the last in late 2024.

With no news since the June 2014 announcement, plans for the project appear to be deferred or abandoned.
