'''Somerville Central Mine''' is a surface mine in Gibson County near Oakland City, Indiana, owned by [[Peabody Energy]]. Opened in 2000, the mine has steadily increased coal production and employment. Its workforce of nearly 185 people operate the mine seven days a week year-round.
