VBC Ferro Alloys have proposed to build a 120 megawatt coal-fired power station. On its website the company states that "to overcome the difficulties in obtaining power, the Company is going to set up 120MW(2X60MW) coal based captive power plant at Bodepalli Village, Kagaznagar Mandal, Adilabad District, Andhra Pradesh. According to a November 2013 report, VBC Ferro Alloys decided to speed up "hive off" the 2x60 MW captive plant in order to facilitate its speedy implmentation.
