Stephen A. Schwarzman
Stephen A. Schwarzman is President, CEO, and Co-Founder of The Blackstone Group and has been involved in "all phases of the firm's development since its founding in 1985."[1]
In 1978, Schwarzman was elected Managing Director at Lehman Brothers and worked in acquisitions and mergers from 1977 to 1984. He was Chairman of the Mergers & Acquisitions Committee (1983 and 1984).[2]
Schwarzman is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). He serves on numerous boards, including the New York Public Library, the New York City Ballet, Harvard Business School Visiting Committee, the JP Morgan Chase National Advisory Board, and the New York City Partnership. He also serves as a director in a number of companies.[3]
Schwarzman received a BA from Yale University and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He has served as adjunct professor at the Yale School of Management.[4]
