Biographical Information
"Stephen Alden is Chief Executive Officer of Maybourne Hotel Group, a position he has held since 2006. He is also a member of the Group's board of directors. Stephen joined Maybourne to spearhead the development and enhancement of three of the world’s most renowned hotels: Claridge's, Connaught and The Berkeley. His focus has also been on the development of the company’s management and operating infrastructure that today drives Maybourne's industry leading performance in London, and in the future will support the Group’s expansion internationally.
"Immediately prior to joining Maybourne, Stephen led the St. Regis and Luxury Collections brand teams at Starwood based in New York. Between 1996 and 2003 he was part of the transition team when ITT Sheraton acquired Ciga Hotels and ultimately was responsible for running the Group's hotel operations based in Rome. An experienced hotelier, Stephen has had a distinguished career in the luxury hotel industry in Europe, North America, the Middle East and Asia. He is also a member of the board of Walpole, a non-profit organisation designed to inspire and promote British Luxury worldwide. Stephen graduated in International Hotel Management from the Centre International de Glion in Switzerland." [1]
