Stephen Phipson
"Stephen Phipson is the Head of the Defence and Security Organisation (UKTI DSO) within UKTI. Stephen previously held the position of Director for Security Industry Engagement within the Office for Security and Counter Terrorism at the Home Office.
"At the Home Office he was the Senior Responsible Owner within Government for the UK security industry and had responsibility for securing a new generation of G2G security agreements with priority overseas partner nations.
"Stephen has spent 35 years in industry and has held senior roles within the electronics, defence and security industries. He was Chief Executive Officer of Stadium Group plc up until his appointment at the Home Office in June 2013.
Prior to this Stephen spent 15 years with Smiths Group plc latterly as President of Smiths Detection, one of the world’s leading CBRNe detection businesses developing business with more than 100 Government agencies around the world. This followed several years as Group Managing Director of Smiths Interconnect, providing electronics subsystems and components to the global defence, communications and security markets.
"Stephen has also held senior management positions with Radiall, Philips and Plessey. Stephen served as the inaugural Chairman of RISC, VP Security for ADS, Chairman of the Security Commission of ASD and is currently a trustee of RUSI."[1]
