Stewart Prins "has over a decade’s experience in government and the media. He has been a senior adviser to the Tasmanian and Victorian State Governments, where his credits include working as speech writer to the late Tasmanian Premier Jim Bacon. After cutting his journalistic teeth with the Mercury newspaper in Hobart, Stewart served as Media Adviser to a number of Tasmanian Government Ministers including former Treasurer David Crean and Deputy Premier David Llewellyn. Stewart also has considerable experience in policy development, specifically in the fields of regional development and sustainable transport. As Public Transport Adviser to former Victorian Transport Minister Peter Batchelor, Stewart was heavily involved in framing the Victorian Government’s $10.5 billion Meeting Our Transport Challenges Action Plan, which was heavily focused on public transport initiatives. A former 1st grade cricketer in Tasmania, Stewart is also passionate about the role of community-based sporting clubs in building social capital." [1]
