Background on Plant

The Sumbagut (Sibolga Baru) power station was shown in a 2012 PLN presentation. However, the project is not shown in the PLN 2012 annual report or in the April 2014 list of Fast Track 1 projects. The PLN long range plan for 2013-2022 appears to show the "Arun & Sumbagut" location as the site of 400 MW "PLTG/MG" plant. Since PLTG represents a gas-fired plant, this suggests that the project is no longer a coal plant.[1][2][3]
