Susan B. Anthony List
The Susan B. Anthony List (SBA List) is a U.S.-based 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization with a "connected political action committee SBA List Candidate Fund." SBA List states that its "ultimate goal is to end abortion in this country." [1]
On its website it states that central to achieving its goal "is getting more women active in the political and legislative arena. We need both women candidates, as well as grassroots activists speaking out against abortion." [2]

Funding of Candidates
In 1999, the budget for the SBA List was $1.3 Million. Current membership is over 53,000. Although Chairman of the Board Marjorie Dannenfelser once served as a Legislative Assistant to Democratic Congressman Alan Mollohan, candidates receiving support from the SBA List Candidate Fund are predominantly or exclusively Republicans. Although one of its stated aims is to elect more pro-life women to Congress, and it boasts of some success in the 1994 Campaigns, close to half of the candidates endorsed by the SBA List Candidate Fund in recent campaigns appear to have been pro-life men.
