Background on Plant
In 2013 Nippon Paper announced that it had reached an agreement and signed a joint venture contract with Mitsubishi Corporation and Chubu Electric Power to build a 100 MW coal plant on the premises of Fuji Mill Suzukawa. Ownership would be shared as follows: Nippon Paper Industries Co., Ltd. 20%, Mitsubishi Corporation 70%, and Chubu Electric Power Co., Inc. 10%. The project would begin output in May 2016.[1]
According to Kiko Network (August 2015), the power station is under construction and planned for operation in September 2016.[2]
A press release dated September 16, 2016, reports the plant was completed.[3]
