Sven F. Kraemer is a Policy Advisor to Douglas Jay Feith, the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy [1].
Biography
Kraemer is a guest lecturer at the Institute of World Politics [2], where he is teaching a course on "U.S. National Security Strategy, Emerging Threats, and Arms Control" [3].
A short biography on its website provides the following information [4]:
- 1961: BA, Harvard College.
- 1964: MA, University of California at Berkeley.
- 1963-1967: Office of the Secretary of Defense.
- 1967-1976: National Security Council staff.
- 1978-1981: Senior Staff Member for Defense and Foreign Policy, U.S. Senate.
- 1981-1987: Director of Arms Control, National Security Council.
- 1987-1989: U.S. House of Representatives.
- 1989-2000: ???????
- 2000: President, Global Challenge.
In addition, Kraemer either is, or has been, an instructor in political philosophy at the University of California, Berkeley [5].
Sven Kraemer was also project director for "The Soviet Union Fights The Cold War", a CD-ROM of Reagan administration documents produced by the American Foreign Policy Council. The page on the AFPC site promoting the CD features endorsements from prominent neo-conservative luminaries. For example, Donald Rumsfeld says the disc contains "Compelling details on the specifics of the Soviet threat to the world." [6]
Family background
Sven Kraemer's father was Fritz Kraemer, a veteran Pentagon policy advisor and sometime friend of Henry Kissinger. Fritz Kraemer died in September 2003 at the age of 95. [7]
