Background on Plant

The three coal-fired units of Tangshan West-1 power station, also known as "Tangshan Saide Cogen power station", totaling 300 MW, were brought online in 1998 to 2005. They were all retired in 2014-2015. The plant is owned by Nanjing Public Utilities Development Co, Ltd. (unit 1&2 ) and China Resources ( unit3 ).

Description of Expansion

China Resources is currently building two additional coal-fired units at this plant, as Tangshan West-2, with a total planned capacity of 700 MW.

Unit 1 began operating in October 2014, and unit 2 in December 2014.
