"As a career member of the Senior Foreign Service, Ambassador Terence Todman has served in several positions within the U.S. Department of State, including Ambassador to Argentina, Ambassador to Denmark, Ambassador to Spain, Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs, and Ambassador to Costa Rica. He has also served as Assistant Secretary of State for Inter-American Affairs, 1977-1978. With such an extensive service background, Ambassador Todman holds the title of Career Ambassador.
"Ambassador Todman is currently the president of Todman & Associates, Inc., a special advisor to the governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands, an associate of Global Business Access, Ltd., and a consultant to various U.S. and Argentina companies. He also serves on the board of directors of several organizations.
"Before joining the Department of State, Ambassador Todman served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1949 as a commissioned officer in Japan. He has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the U.S. Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia.
"Ambassador Todman was born in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. He received his B.A. from Inter-American University (Puerto Rico) and his M.P.A. from Syracuse University. He also holds several honorary doctorate degrees.“ [1]
