Thomas C. Ramey
Thomas C. Ramey "is Executive Vice President of the Liberty Mutual Group ($15 billion property casualty insurance company) and President of Liberty International, a $3.5 billion wholly owned subsidiary. His responsibilities include directing the Group's international specialty casualty, commercial and personal insurance operations, acquisitions and strategies. Liberty International has 6,000 employees worldwide in 15 countries.
"Prior to joining Liberty Mutual in 1992, Mr. Ramey was President and CEO of American International Healthcare (AIH), American International Group's (AIG) wholly owned subsidiary for both domestic and international managed health care products and services. Since 1980 he has been extensively involved in international business, particularly in Latin America and Asia.
"Before launching his business career, Mr. Ramey served as a senior staff member of the Inter-American Foundation in Washington, D.C. from 1973 to 1979. Before that he was Peace Corps staff in Chile and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Colombia. He lived in Chile and Colombia while a member of the Peace Corps, attended high school in Naples, Italy, and lived for two years in Munich, Germany while attending college, before eventually receiving a master's degree from Tulane University. Mr. Ramey speaks fluent Spanish.
