Background on plant

The original Tianfu West power station consisted of seven small subcritical coal-fired units. Units 6-7 of 50 MW each were commissioned in 2003-2004 and as of 2018 are still operating. The power station is in western Shihezi city. It is owned by Xinjiang Tianfu Thermoelectric Company.[1]

New Units

Four new 135 MW units at the power station went into operation in 2013.[1]
