Background on plant

The original Tianfu West power station consisted of seven small subcritical coal-fired units. Units 6-7 of 50 MW each were commissioned in 2003-2004 and as of 2018 are still operating. The power station is in western Shihezi city. It is owned by Xinjiang Tianfu Thermoelectric Company.

New Units

Four new 135 MW units at the power station went into operation in 2013.
