Background on Plant

Tianye power station is an eight-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,800 MW in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. It is owned by Xinjiang Tianye Group. The first six units, totaling 200 MW, were retired in 2015. Units 7-10, totaling 540 MW, were completed between 2006 and 2008.[1]

Units 11 & 12, totaling 600 MW, were completed in 2010-2011.[2][3][4]

Units 13 & 14, totaling 660 MW, were completed in 2014.[5][6]
