Tinus Maree
"Tinus is corporate and litigation lawyer by training, having obtained his BLC LLB qualifications at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. He was a partner in a leading law firm in South Africa for 10 years before retiring from legal practice in June 1998 to found the River Group, a boutique investment banking firm with offices in South Africa and Canada. Tinus has advised on numerous M&A transactions in North America, Europe, Africa and Asia over the last decade. He has served on the boards of public companies in Canada and South Africa, and acted as an independent advisor to a number of working committees established by the ANC government during the transition to democracy in South Africa. He relocated to Vancouver in January 2001 to establish the Canadian office of the River Group." [1]
