Background on plant
The Tomatouatsuma coal-fired plant produces 1,650MW from its three operating Units. Unit 1 (350MW) was commissioned in 1980; Unit 2 (600MW) was commissioned in 1985; and Unit 4 (700MW) was commissioned in 2002.[2] Unit 3 (85MW) was commissioned in 1985 and retired in 2005.
