Transhumanist

Transhumanism came to its own as a movement in the late 1980s. With such events as the foundation of the Foresight Institute (1986), Extropy: The Journal of Transhumanist Thought (est. 1988), and The Extropy Institute (1991). An international network continued to develop through the 1990s, with the establishment of The World Transhumanist Association (1998; nowHumanity+), Journal of Transhumanism (1998; now Journal of Evolution and Technology ), The Singularity Institute (2000), etc. Dozens of organizations,associations, journals and institutes now exist – there is even a Mormon Transhumanist Association (est. 2006).
