Background on Plant

Tumxuk-1 power station is a 2 x 50 MW subcritical coal plant in Tumxuk owned by Nongsanshi Power Company. It was commissioned in 2011.[1]

Nongsanshi Power Company has proposed an additional two units of 350 MW each, known as Tumxuk-2 power station. Construction on the two units began in 2014.[1] The new units were planned for operation in 2015,[2] but were not commissioned until 2017.[3][4]
