Background on Plant
The plant's first 145-MW coal-fired unit was commissioned in 1982 and is used to power UBE's chemical factory in Kogushi.[1] The second 216-MW coal-fired and biomass-fired unit was commissioned in 2004 and provides electricity to Chugoku Electric.[2]
