{{#Badges: CoalSwarm}} Xcel Energy initially proposed to build a 300-350 megawatt (MW) integrated gasification combined cycle (IGCC) plant near Brush, Colorado, but later indicated their consideration of a plan to build a larger, 600 MW plant instead.[1] On October 31, 2007, Xcel announced that it was tabling the plant for at least two years due to lack of demand and cost issues – after estimating the cost as potentially exceeding $1 billion.[2][3]
