{{#badges: CoalSwarm}} The Utility Solid Waste Activities Group (USWAG) is a lobbying organization representing coal ash interests in the United States. The group is funded by coal interests. USWAG, which operates out of the Edison Electric Institute in Washington D.C., has argued that disposing of coal ash as hazardous waste could cost the industry as much as $20 billion a year. USWAG lobbyists include Jim Rower and Douglas Green, both of whom were granted two meetings with President Barack Obama's White House staff on proposed coal ash regulations.[1]
