Background
In July 2014, the chief minister of Punjab said the government was planning to build 110 MW coal power plants (2 x 55 MW) near industrial load centers in seven big cities: Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Multan and Lahore.[1]
In June 2016, press reports indicated that the project had been moved from Gujranwala to Vehari, while also apparently being increased to 220 MW. According to filings, the project would be built by S2 Power Limited, a subsidiary of the Servis Group.[2]
With no further developments, the project appears to be shelved.
