Contributions
On August 23, 2006, VFT received $10,000 from Citizens for Housing and Urban Growth (CHUG), a fund established June 4, 2003, by Sen. Michael S. Bennett (R-FL 21st, Bradenton), Rep. Charles S. "Charlie" Dean (R-FL 43rd, Inverness), and Rep. Ron Reagan (R-FL 67th, Sarasota) in Florida. [2][3]
According to the June 7, 2006, Palm Beach Post, the fund (CHUG) is Bennett's State Senate "presidency political committee". [4]

In 2003, Florida Sen. Mike Bennett also established the Committee Supporting Utilities & Competitive Commerce (CSUCC) at 125 South Gadsden Street in Tallahassee, which is the address for Lewis, Longman & Walker, P.A. (Suite 300) and the same address as that used for CHUG. CSUCC received a single contribution of $20,000 on August 18, 2005, from the Committee of Citizens to Protect Environmentally Sensitive Areas (CCPES), established in 2002, which also shares the Gadsden Street address. Payments from the CSUCC were made in small increments to a number of Florida candidates and Lewis, Longman & Walker. [5]
In the 2004 election cycle, records show that Floridians for Conservative Values received a $100,000 contribution in June 2004 from CCPES. However, there do not appear to be any records of funds received or expended by CCPES.
The offices of Lewis, Longman & Walker also headquarter Citizens for a Better Southwest Florida, Floridians for a More Informed Electorate [6], and Floridians for the Future of the Developmentally Disabled, which also reported to the IRS for the first time the week of September 14, 2006.
