The Washington Coal Club (WCC) is a District of Columbia non-profit corporation formalized in 1981 by founding members Robert Jimeson, William Harvey, Jr., Samuel Esleeck, Maurice Carino, Jr. and Joseph Yancik (although it met informally before that time). It meets monthly from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday, usually at the Rayburn House Office Building on the Capitol Hill to discuss coal and industry-related topics. The Club's membership of over 300 includes coal producers and transporters, Federal and State legislators, associations focused on coal's role in the American economy, academics involved in coal-related research, and policy makers from both the executive and legislative branches of government.
