The Weil Foundation "began substantial grant-making in 2005.
"The Weil Foundation intends to raise $10 million over the next 10 years. The principal donor is Andrew Weil, M.D., who has pledged his after-tax profits from the royalties from Weil Lifestyle, LLC, retail products. Among other donors to the Foundation are individuals, corporations, and foundations who believe in the promise of integrative medicine." [1]

"The board of directors of the Weil Foundation, still in formation, will include leading experts in medicine including complementary and alternative medicine, the natural sciences, health care policy, food systems and nutrition, philanthropy, and non-profit management. They will have responsibilities for all policies and activities of the Weil Foundation, including grant-making. The members of the board are: Andrew Weil, M.D.; James Dalen, M.D., Richard Baxter, Humberto S. Lopez, Lura M. Lovell, and Robert G. Sarver.
