Background on Plant

Weiqiao Huji power station is a 4 x 330 MW subcritical coal plant at Binzhou prefecture, owned by Shandong Weiqiao Group. Units 3-4 began operating in 2014. Units 1-2 were completed in 2015.

Proposed expansion

Shandong Weiqiao Group is constructing an additional units 5-8 at the power station, totaling 1,320 MW (four units of 330 MW each).

The units were commissioned in 2016.
