Wendy McCrary Breck
In 1972 "Miss Wendy McCrary, a junior at the New School for Social Research, plans to be married Jan. 20 to Henry Reynolds Breck, a partner in Lehman Brothers, investment bankers here." She "is the daughter of Douglas Adoue McCrary of Calvert, Tex., who has announced her engagement, and the late Mrs. Wendy Iglehart Mc Crary and a granddaughter of the late D. Stewart Iglehart of Westbury, L.I., who was president of W. R. Grace & Co. and the Grace Line. Her father is a rancher and raises thoroughbred horses.
"Mr. Breck is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry C. Breck of New York. His father is a limited partner in J. & W. Seligman & Co., stock brokers." He is "a graduate of Groton School and Harvard University, class of '58, re ceived a law degree in 1960 from Balliol College, Oxford University." [1]
In 2010 she was appointed "to the Board of Tusk USA Inc. Since her honeymoon in Rhodesia in 1973 Wendy has had a strong relationship with Africa. She founded and ran a travel company, Conservation Travel, from 1989-1999 which arranged safaris, but at the same time focused on understanding issues of conservation in Africa. She has travelled extensively in Africa including trips to Ethiopia, Rwanda, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa and Namibia. Wendy was a Trustee of the Gallmann Memorial Foundation from 1989-2004 and served six years on the Board of the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF). For eight years she was on the International Committee of the Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) located in New York City, which supports species-specific projects as well as developing models of national parks that have been used around the world."
