Background
The project was proposed by North Eastern Electric Power Corporation and was still being described as active in 2012 on the sponsor's web site, where it was reported that State Government Clearance was awaited and that application for coal linkage had been submitted to the Ministry of Coal in December 2006.[1]
However, as of mid-2014 the project is no longer mentioned on the NEEPC website and it appears to have been abandoned.
