Background on Plant

The project was originally proposed by Global Energy and Mining Scotland in 2006. The proposal was for an AFT-IGCC (advanced fuel technology integrated gasification combined cycle) plant, with a capacity of 520 MW. It would be fueled with waste/biomass co-gasified with coal.
