William (Bill) Raggio was a Republican state legislator of Nevada that represented District 3 (Reno) in the State Senate until his retirement in 2011.[1][2]

Ties to the American Legislative Exchange Council
Raggio was a member of the Board of Directors of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) as of 2011.[3] He had been an ALEC Director since at least 1986.[4] ALEC named one of its annual awards after him, the "William J. Raggio Excellence in Leadership and Outstanding Service Award," which in 2011 was given to former Representative Dolores Mertz of Iowa.[5]
