William Appleman Williams (1921–1990) wiki
In an interview undertaken in 1980 he notes: "I also got a small grant from the Rabinowitz Foundation, and HUAC didn’t like that at all. But obviously they were after me to stop the book." [1]
He is a former president of the Organization of American Historians.
