Background
Wujing-1: This power station near the Huangou River was founded in 1958 in the Wujing Chemical Industry Zone. Six small units have all been closed. Units 7 & 8 (300 MW each) were rebuilt into CHP units and recommissioned in 2009. They were originally owned by CPI.[1]
Wujing-2: The operating company for this plant was established in Nov 1999 by Shenergy Co and Shanghai Electric Power. Two 600 MW subcritical units were built for a total investment of 6.95 billion yuan. Construction began in April 1997 and Units 1 & 2 were completed in July 2000 and May 2001, respectively.[1]
Ownership
In July 2015, China Power Investment Corporation (CPI) and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation (SNPTC) merged to become State Power Investment Corporation (国家电力投资集团), one of the five largest state-owned electricity producers in the People's Republic of China.[2]
