Background on Plant

The plant was originally built in 1937, and now is owned by China Datang. Units 1-9 have been retired. Units 10-12 were completed between 1982 and 1988. Units 10-11 (100 MW each) were retired in 2007. Only the 200 MW unit 12 is operating. The unit was upgraded in 2010 into co-generating unit, supplying heat in winter to the city of Zhangjiakou.
