Background on Project

Xinfeng power station is a proposed 2 x 1,000 MW ultra-supercritical coal plant in Datangbu Town, Xinfeng County. It is proposed by Shenhua Group.[1]

As of September 2017 the project is seeking environmental clearance.[2]

In August 2018 the project sponsor changed to Jiangxi Provincial Investment Group, and the capacity to 2 x 660 MW.[3] In February 2019 Zhejiang Provincial Energy Group and National Energy Investment Group also became sponsors.[4]

The project was permitted for construction in May 2019.[5]
