Background on Project

National Energy Investment Group and Shaanxi Coal & Chemical Industry Group have proposed a 2 x 660 MW coal plant in Bin County, Xianyang Prefecture. It is described as a low-calorie ultra-supercritical CFB power generation demonstration project.[1]

In February 2018 a boiler purchase agreement was signed between the sponsors and Harbin Electric Group for the power station.[2]

Unit 1 was permitted for construction in February 2019. It is waiting for the permit for construction from Shaanxi Provincial Development and Reform Commission.[3]
