Background on Project

Construction on the 2 x 300 MW coal project began in 2011 without the necessary permits. In 2013 construction was nearly complete but halted by the provincial government.[1][2]

In 2015 the project received the necessary permits from the provincial Environmental Protection Bureau.[3]
