Henan Xinzhongyi power station

Xinzhongyi power station (河南投资集团新中益发电公司) is a 1,320-megawatt (MW) coal-fired power plant in Henan Province, China.

Two units of the power station, totaling 440 MW, were retired in 2008. They are also referred to as units 5-6 of the Xinxiang Huayu power station, bought by Henan Investment Group from China Power Investment.

Background on Plant

In 2013 Henan Investment Group began construction on two supercritical units of 600 MW each at the power station. The new units replaced two older units, also referred to as units 5-6 of the Xinxiang Huayu power station, although they were owned by Henan Investment Group.

The new units were constructed at 660 MW each. They began trial runs in December 2014, and were reported as operating in 2015.
