Background on Plant

Yemazhai power station is a three-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 600 MW. The plant was completed between 2005 and 2006, and is owned by China Datang.[1][2]

It is the expansion project of an expansion project of Shuicheng power station, a 110MW retired power station in Shuicheng County.[3][4] The sponsor is Guizhou Zhongshui Energy Development Co, which became the subsidiary of China Datang in 2011.[5]

Yemazhai power station is facing severe lost since 2012. Its debt ratio (liabilities versus assets) was 98% in 2017. [6]
